1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport. For applicants who used to be Chinese citizens but later immigrated to other countries, the Document No.83 (2009) of Ministry of Education of the PRC shall apply.
2. A Doctoral Degree program applicant should hold a Master diploma and be under the age of 40. Applicants shall be of good moral character, physically and mentally healthy, and willing to comply with Chinese laws and the regulations of Tianjin University.
3. Language Proficiency requirements:
English-taught programs applicants need to submit English proficiency certificate (English native speakers are exempted). TOFEL: no less than 80, IELTS: no less than 6.0. （English native speakers are exempted）

*1. Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.
*2. Certificate of master degree
Certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization. Both original and official English translated version are required.
*3. Academic Transcripts of master degree
Academic Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese or English and be certified by notarization. Both original and official English translated version are required.

*5. Non-criminal Record Certificate (Generally, it is valid for 3 or 6 months)
It must be issued by your local police station with official stamp.
*6. Two recommendation letters
Applicants who apply for the Doctoral program need to submit two recommendation letters in English or Chinese from two professors.

Not less than 800 words written in English or Chinese. All applicants must submit a study or research plan for the study period in China.

With name, passport number & expiration date, and photo included
*9. Physical Examination Form(only valid for 6 months)
The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Please select the appropriate time to have medical examination as the medical results have a 6-month validity.

11. Applicants who are now in China must submit scan of Photocopy of Visa and Transfer Certificate from present university.
